Meet Caitlin!

Who I am:
My name is Caitlin, and I just graduated in December from Auburn University with a BA in Psychology. I was honored to be a part of some pretty incredible swim teams, so I was part of an Auburn University relay that broke the American record twice, and later I earned a spot on the USA World Championship team to compete in Rome. Someday, I’d like to be a foster parent and adopt all kinds of kids, but right now, I’m the UChapters Intern here at TWLOHA. I’m quite tall for a woman at 6’2” and have an insane fear of tissues and Kleenex.

Stuff I love:
I love answering messages as an intern because I am always amazed and inspired by TWLOHA supporters. Some of my favorite things are: dancing like crazy around the house (regardless of music), pasta with butter and parmesan (I’d eat pasta and only pasta for the rest of my life, and it would be okay), making dinner for people (not only pasta), and country music (although Holly did get me on a Switchfoot kick recently). I’m reading Catching Fire, book 2 in The Hunger Games trilogy, but I take breaks from reading to watch LOST with Krista. I am also shameless to confess my love for The Vampire Diaries, Grey’s Anatomy, and Pretty Little Liars.

Why I’m here:
I work for TWLOHA because I don’t believe in perfection. I used to buy into the lies that everyone else had their act together around me, when in reality they were thinking the same thing I was. I think that flaws are what make people beautiful and that it takes a great deal of strength to admit to them. TWLOHA helped me realize that struggles aren’t made to be carried silently or alone because asking for help doesn’t make you weak. This organization created a passion in me to help others find this serenity, and I feel blessed to be a part of it!
