Meet Jason!

Who I am:
I graduated from Salem State University in 2010, with a degree in business management and a minor in psychology. I have been involved with To Write Love on Her Arms since January of 2009. I started as an intern, and hung around till September 2009 when I went home to finish school. For the next year or so, I lived just north of Boston with my family, working for my best friend Erik doing some construction and utilities and also working for UPS, all while still doing some events and festivals for TWLOHA. I just made the move down to Florida in January 2011 to work full time in the music and events department with Chad and to offer my hand wherever needed.
Stuff I love:
I don’t really have time to watch TV, nor do I have cable at my apartment, so I usually read, watch a movie, or play Xbox. I just recently bought Halo: Reach and the new Call of Duty. My favorite kind of music is instrumental/post rock and I am currently enjoying this composer from Seattle called Eluvium. In Florida, I have been learning to surf with Denny and playing guitar a lot. I love cookies, specifically, chocolate chip: the kind with milk chocolate chips that are chewy.
My most memorable experience was the trip that my girlfriend, Rachel, and I took to Haiti in May of last year. We didn’t go with a group, but instead had some friends who owned a church and orphanage there, so we decided that we were going to go work on the orphanage and do whatever we could to help rebuild after the earthquake. Rachel worked with all of the children, and I ended up meeting some guys from all over the US who came down to install solar panels, so I got to help give the orphanage and church electricity. Before leaving, we took a hike with all of the kids up to the nearest mountain peak overlooking the whole town and ocean. It was both beautiful and spiritual.
Why I’m here:
I work here because I believe in what TWLOHA does. I have been fortunate enough to hear from and meet people all over the country, and some parts of the world, who have been affected and helped by the message, mission and work of TWLOHA.
My ultimate goal would be to always work toward leaving this planet in better condition than when it was loaned to me, both literally and figuratively. I am looking forward to any chance that I get to spread the message and mission of To Write Love on Her Arms.
